Dear CompassVet Family,

It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you of a significant decision I have made regarding CompassVet. After much consideration, I decided to close the practice in May 2024 and I am no longer be providing at-home veterinary care. I am now working as an associate at a brick and mortar practice in the San Antonio area and I’d love to continue caring for your pet family! You can email me at info@compassvetsa if you’d like to know where I am working now.

Since my first patient in 2020, it has been an incredible journey providing care for your beloved pets. Each interaction has been a privilege, and I am deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in me and the CompassVet team. I want to express my sincere gratitude for your loyalty and support over the years. It has been an honor to be a part of your lives and to care for your family. While this decision was not made lightly, I believe it was the right decision for my family.

With warmest regards and fondest farewells,
Dr. Tara Perez
CompassVet’s owner and sole veterinarian
(that’s me with Preston, my best dog ever)

My pet was seen by Dr. Perez within the past year, can I still get medication refills?
Yes! I am still approving medication refills and can prescribe anxiety medications for up to approximately 1 year after your pet’s last exam. For refill requests, first check your Vetsource account (if applicable) to see if you have any refills remaining. Otherwise, please EMAIL your questions or concerns to me at info@compassvetsa.com.

My pet was last seen more than 1 year ago, how do I get more medications?
You will need to schedule an appointment for an examination with a new veterinarian in order to get additional medications. There are recommendations below.
